A company must be a legal entity, so it is essential that you have a corporate deed. General information on the company deed includes the company’s name, the business field, the name of the capital owner, the details of authorized capital, the details of paid-up capital, and the arrangement of the company’s board.

This letter can be obtained from kelurahan (a kind of government authority) where your company is domiciled. To obtain a certificate of domicile, you need a copy of the company deed. Also, the kelurahan officer sometimes asks whether the location that your company occupies is leased or privately owned.

If the status is rent, you will usually be asked for a copy of the lease agreement. However, if the status is self-owned, you will be asked for a copy of the land certificate and Building Permit (better known as IMB). But sometimes you will also be asked for a copy of the Land and Building Tax (PBB) payment receipt.

Step 3 Take Care of Company NPWP

A company must also have a Taxpayer Identification Number (known as NPWP). NPWP Registration for the company can also be done online. Visit the website www.pajak.go.id or https://ereg.pajak.go.id/login to directly access the NPWP registration page. After accessing the website, select the e-Registration menu. Follow all the provided guides and then check the registration status of your company’s NPWP by email or on the registration history page. If the status is rejected, then you should fix the incomplete data. But if the status is approved, your company’s NPWP card will be sent by post.

Step 4 Obtain a Decision Letter of Company Establishment from Ministry of Law and Human Rights

After registering the company’s NPWP, you must apply a letter of the company’s establishment certificate to the Department of Law and Human Rights. To get this decree, you need to attach a copy of the company deed and Certificate of Domicile.

Step 5 Get Trading Business License (SIUP)

This letter is required for your company to operate legally in Indonesia. For the requirements of SIUP, it is tailored to the form and type of business you run.

Step 6 Maintain Company Registration Certificate (TDP)

TDP is usually submitted after you get SIUP. But in some areas in Indonesia, you can manage SIUP and TDP at once. The requirements are also relatively same for different regions.
